We have a wonderful family of over 500 dedicated community volunteers! We make sure our volunteers have a meaningful experience when volunteering with us. We interview each candidate to learn about their passions and interests so we can connect them to an assignment that will fill their hearts and needs. We offer opportunities in patient care areas, guest service areas, offices or our Catchpenny Resale Shoppe downtown Barrington. In the course of volunteering, our volunteers participate in recognition events and hospital celebrations, receive recognition for their hours of service and more! At Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital we take pride in creating a caring and engaging environment for our volunteers where they feel fulfilled, supported, appreciated and loved!
During COVID, we have put many safety measures in place to ensure all volunteers are safe when volunteering with us.
All volunteers receive thorough training, are required to complete a free of charge medical screening and a a free of charge criminal background check.
