Parker Players Theater Company is seeking organized, friendly, and dependable volunteers to serve as ticket takers and hall monitors during performances at the Barrington Theater.

These positions help front-of-house operations and ensures that patrons have a smooth and welcoming theater experience from arrival through curtain call.

Responsibilities include:

Arriving one hour before the performance to greet patronsuse the ticketing tablets to check patrons inGreeting patrons as they enter the building, pushing a button to open the doorAssisting with patron check-in, walk-up ticket sales, and audience questionsMonitoring lobby before the show and during intermissionSupporting post-show audience exit and venue clean-up

The ideal volunteer is calm under pressure, highly organized, and enjoys interacting with people. Strong communication skills and comfort troubleshooting minor issues (technology, guest questions, logistics) are helpful. Previous theater, event, hospitality, or customer service experience is a plus, but not required.

This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity. As a thank-you for your time and support, House Managers are invited to enjoy the performance free of charge.

Volunteer Bartender – Parker Players Theater Company (PPTC)

Parker Players Theater Company is seeking friendly, reliable volunteer bartenders to help create a welcoming pre-show and intermission experience for our patrons at the Barrington Theater.

Volunteer bartenders serve beer, wine, and canned cocktails before performances and during intermission. No mixology experience is required—just comfort handling simple beverage sales and engaging warmly with guests.

Responsibilities include:

Setting up the bar before patrons arriveSelling beer, wine, and canned cocktailsProviding friendly customer service to audience membersManaging beverage service during intermissionCleaning and breaking down the bar after the performance

Requirements:

Must be BASSET certified (Illinois alcohol service certification)Must be dependable, organized, and comfortable handling transactionsHospitality or customer service experience is helpful, but not required
