We are forming a 5-person leadership committee to bring this event to life - from concept to execution to impact. Together, we’ll activate Barrington’s busiest corners and storefronts in a way that is safe, joyful and engaging, inviting the community to give while spreading a little sweetness (candy) along the way. Join us in building what will become a signature annual event for Barrington - and a powerful force for children who need us most. The event will take place over a weekend in May - yet to be determined. Meetings will take place at our office in Barrington’s White House. At Let It Be Us, we recruit new foster parents residing in the State of Illinois. These may be viewed as committed volunteer roles within child welfare, although stipends are included to hopefully cover the costs of parenting children in foster care. We are in need for foster parents for children of all ages, and especially children with special needs, sibling groups, and teens. While this request refers to the 60010 zip code, this need is throughout the State of Illinois. Note that adoption is a possible outcome of foster parenting.
