Volunteer: Barrington Giving Day Volunteer Manager Roles

Join Our Team: Make a Difference with Barrington Giving Day!

Barrington Giving Day is growing, and we need passionate, dedicated individuals to join our working board. We're looking for volunteers to fill key roles that are vital to the success of our events and initiatives. If you have a heart for service and a desire to give back to the community, consider stepping into one of the following positions:

1. Winter Accessories Manager

Oversee the collection, sorting, and distribution of hats, gloves and scarves donations.Coordinate with donors and volunteers to ensure we have the necessary items in various sizes and styles.Setup and ensure that all winter accessories are organized and accessible for families during our events.

2. Clothing Manager

Oversee the collection, sorting, and distribution of clothing donations.Coordinate with donors and volunteers to ensure we have the necessary items in various sizes and styles.Setup and ensure that clothing is organized and accessible for families during our events.

3. School Supply Manager

Purchase and manage the inventory and distribution of school supplies for children in need.Work with donors and volunteers to gather supplies and prepare them for distribution.Setup and Organize School Supply Station at Back to School eventOversee volunteers in School Supply Station during setup and event

4. Personal Care Manager

Coordinate the collection and distribution of personal care items, such as toiletries and hygiene products.Work with local businesses and community members to secure donations.Setup and ensure that all items are organized and available for families during distribution events.

5. Volunteer Hospitality Manager

Create a welcoming environment for our volunteers, ensuring they have the resources and support needed.Organize refreshments and meals for volunteers during long events.Develop ways to recognize and appreciate the hard work of our volunteers.

Each of these roles is crucial to the success of Barrington Giving Day, and your involvement will make a significant impact on the lives of families in our community. Volunteer: Grant Writer - Volunteer

Responsibilities

The Grant Writer's primary goals are to assist BGD by completing and submitting application for private or federal grants available to the organization  This will include preparing proposals and completing grant applications to assist the organization in obtaining needed finances to continue stated mission   Research and identify available government and private funding opportunities   Maintain knowledge of proper protocols and all relevant local, federal, and state guidelines required for the proper proposal submission process   Generate revenues for organization programs and services through submission of researched, well-written, and well-documented fund-raising proposals  Generate proposals and all required supporting documents in response to solicitations   Write reports to organization, government, and other funders of the organization   Create and maintain funding calendar activities for organization   Maintain communication on progress of obtained grants with project managers and executive staff   Serve as a liaison between the BGD and all funding agencies or organizations
