Volunteer: Associate Board MemberThe Bridge Youth and Family Services is in need of dedicated young professionals (in their 20s and 30s) who will aid in the success of The Bridge through community outreach, fundraising, and increase awareness about our programs. The Associate Board aims to be a multidisciplinary team of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and talents committed to developing the young professionals in our community. Requirements: Be committed to the Associate Board for a period of 1 year Attend monthly meetings Take part in the planning and implementation of two small events per year Volunteer or attend at least one special event hosted by The Bridge Participate in one of the following committees Special Events Membership/Recruitment Public Relations DevelopmentCommittee Responsibilities: Recruit new members to join the board Represent The Bridge through social media and at special events Research new fundraising opportunities Research and organize YPB social, learning, or networking eventsQualifications: Be in your 20s or 30s (must be at least 21) Undergraduate degree (All fields are welcome) Graduate student or young professional Interest in social service agencies or fundraisingBenefits of Membership: Build your resume Develop leadership skills Gain insight and knowledge from current Board Members on how to manage an NPO and prepare for Board Leadership in the future Network with other young professionals Give back to the community Learn new skills through committees such as fundraising techniques, developing press releases, recruiting through social media, and planning events from start to finish.Next step, or to learn more: Please click the green "Respond" button on this page. Volunteer: Mentor for YouthBe a friend, teacher, caring listener, coach and role model for a child between the ages of 11 and 15. The Bridge provides screening, training and all the support you'll need to help a child grow socially and emotionally. Basic Requirements: Spend 1-2 hours per week with your match and attend monthly meetings/activities Must be able to pass a DCFS background check, submit fingerprinting, have a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and clean driving record A one-year commitment to the program is requiredGoals of Mentor Program: Increased school attendance and performance Improved social and life skills Improved inter and intrapersonal relationships Reduced conflict with peers and family relationships Increased social capital Reduced risk of criminal activity and substance useNext step, or to learn more: Please click the green "Respond" button on this page.
