Who We Are
My Density Matters is a Non-Profit founded by Leslie Ferris Yerger.
Leslie was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer in November of 2017, two months after an 'all clear' mammogram and ultrasound. Her cancer was hiding in dense breast tissue, left undetected to grow and spread. Unfortunately, most women are unaware that dense breast tissue is a risk for breast cancer, and standard screening methods will find less than half of all cancers. We want every woman to know. Leslie wishes she knew this before her breast cancer diagnosis, and she doesn't want her story to become your story.
VISION: We envision a world where breast density no longer hinders the early diagnosis of breast cancer.
Visit our website to learn more about how we save lives by providing education and empowering women with tools to find out their breast density, learn their screening options, and insist and persist until they get proper breast cancer screening.
